A few scenes filmed for the murder scene are used earlier in the trailer to create a feeling of unease in the audience, therefore it was important that I did not repeat them. I embedded scenes of the police officer stumbling towards the characters, Tia and Chance, within scenes of the two laughing and talking with each other. The scenes contrast with one another, as one creates a sense of foreboding in the audience, whilst the scenes of Tia and Chance emphasise how close they are.
I used Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 to edit this scene. The first thing that I did was create a bin full of all the footage for the murder scene and review them, cutting the parts out with the razor tool that I did not like.
I embedded scenes of the police officer's kidnapping within the murder scene to, again, create a sense of foreboding within the audience; they know that something bad is going to happen. For the flashing effect I used the razor tool to separate the footage into equally sized parts and then I added a dip to black video transition in each part.
